日本ではウッブを使っても安心だと　思います。　携帯電話を持っている人は車を運転しない。電車に乗る人しかウエッブを使いません。
日本人はよく図書館　を　利用します。ほかの　国の、学生は　全然　図書館へ　行きません。　ウェブだけを　使えます。

いかにして　私は　そのこと　を　知ったのか。　わたしは数百人の　大学生　に　アンケートを　しま した。それから　私は 記事 を　書きました。大阪大学世界言語研究センター論集 第２号（2010 年）に　その記事　を　掲載　できました。

若いアメリカ人は　あまりに　携帯電話を　使うので、人と話すのをやめてしまうの です。　私の先生は　そのことを　心配しています。

彼は　スタンフォド　大学コミュニケーション学部長　でしたが　私の大学生時代は　まだウェッブ　は　ありません　でした。

(English translation)　　Japanese Web use

I think the use of the Web in Japan is relatively safe. People don’t drive using cell phones; train passengers use cell phones.　　And Japanese continue frequent library visits. In other countries, students don’t go to the library so much anymore. They use cell phones instead.

How can I make these statements?　Hundreds of my students　at a Japanese university responded to my questionnaire. I wrote up the results in an article (http://nasw.org/users/skatzman/webj.pdf) and Osaka University journal Research Institute for World Languages published my article in 2010.

Young Americans use the Web so much that they cannot talk to each other, my teacher worries. He is a researcher and was head of the Stanford Department of communication when I was a graduate student there. The Web did not yet exist then. It was about to be invented.

I am a graduate of Stanford University. After coming to Japan, I have been researching how people use the Web.
